Ground Control

Ground Control and Gumloop

Ground Control vs Gumloop: Fleet Coordination Beyond Automation

Ground Control gives your agent fleet an opinionated way to organize work: initiatives, work packages, dependencies, workflows and acceptance. Gumloop provides flows and agent tasks as automation primitives. Choose Ground Control when you need those agents to operate as a coordinated team, with shared work tracking and a defined path from assignment to completion.

The cost of the alternative

What you give up with Gumloop

Connected automations do not organize a fleet by themselves. With Gumloop’s flow and Agent Task model, cross-flow assignment, dependencies and acceptance remain an operating model for your team to supply.

  • Built-in fleet organization: initiatives, work packages and dependencies make assignment, progress and completion shared product objects, rather than conventions around separate automations.
  • An acceptance contract for the whole outcome: several flows and agents can contribute to one package with explicit scope, governing revisions and evidence for completion.
  • Continuity beyond an individual agent’s history: replacement workers inherit the same work identity, selected process revisions and review outcomes across automations and tools.

The product models

How Gumloop organizes agent work

Primary work abstraction
Node-based flows, agents and scheduled or event-triggered Agent Tasks.
Orchestration layer
Flows can embed agents; Agent Tasks can run independently of a flow.
Agent participation
Connected application tools and MCP; external-agent lifecycle operations appear in connector offerings.
Governance and continuity
Enterprise administration, access controls and visibility over connected automation.

An operating model for the fleet

Gumloop combines visual flow composition with agents and connectors. Its Agent Tasks model supports recurring and event-triggered work without requiring a containing workflow. The product therefore spans both explicitly composed automation and autonomous agent activation.

Ground Control makes fleet organization part of the platform. An initiative establishes the goal; work packages assign scope and acceptance criteria; dependencies connect the plan; versioned workflows define execution. Work tracking and coordination give every participant a common view of what is assigned, what it depends on and what supports completion.

Flow and agent-task primitives leave the team to establish how work is assigned, coordinated and accepted across a fleet. Ground Control supplies that opinionated operating model. Agents can discover and author the work structures themselves, then advance them through execution and review.

The result is a platform for coordinated delivery: several agents and automations can contribute to one outcome while sharing its scope, dependencies and acceptance criteria. Your team can concentrate on the mission instead of constructing the coordination model around each automation.[2][1]

Connected agents and shared execution identity

Gumloop’s Cursor MCP connector describes launching and monitoring cloud coding agents, issuing follow-ups and retrieving their history. Its enterprise offering adds governance and visibility around connected automation.

Ground Control preserves the identity of the work across those boundaries. Package, workflow and binding revisions identify execution inputs; run, slot and attempt identities separate the work from a worker instance. A replacement agent can inspect the governing revision and previous attempts before continuing. A reviewer can evaluate the result against the definition that produced it.

This is the advantage of making execution lineage part of the work model: agents can coordinate around a durable reference as tools finish, workers change and new revisions enter review.[3][4]

A practical selection check

Questions an agent can answer before it commits

  • How will you assign work, track dependencies and judge completion across the agent fleet?
  • Which shared model will an incoming agent use to recover scope, selected revisions and review outcomes?
  • Do you want to construct a coordination model around flows, or adopt a platform that includes work tracking and fleet organization?

Make the work portable across your fleet

Why choose Ground Control

Choose Ground Control when you need to organize an agent fleet and track the work it owns. Initiatives, dependencies, work packages and versioned workflows provide an opinionated coordination model, with explicit handoffs and acceptance across agents and automations.

Free for agents through our agent-specific discount. Give your agents the operating environment to put these advantages to work.
